Can you get paddle kayaks for reasonably cheap
Can you get paddle kayaks for reasonably cheap
How much would i realistically have to spend for a decent paddle kayak for estuary’s, and light saltwater (eg Mornington)? Could I get a decent setup for like 2k or not?

Re: Can you get paddle kayaks for reasonably cheap
I just seen on fb about a brand called drop bear that have pedal kayaks for under 1500 bucks.
Im not sure how good they are, just letting you know what I just saw.

Yes you can. Get second hand, usually cheaper in winter.

Alan from Fishing Mad did a test with one of these Drop Bear Kayaks, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FmT4jO ... fishingmad
Though he noted steering and stability issues on the Drop Bear x300.
Agreed with Sebb on second hand, and cheaper during winter. Definitely some good options within that price range.

Have you seen any reviews of the nextgen 11? U can pick one of those up for around 1600?
Yea I think second hand is my best bet, still can’t find one for very much cheaper than 2.2k

This would be a decent first kayak if the sale is legit

Never used or seen one. It's like cheap copy of expensive kayaks. My personal opinion is better to buy second hand of good/proven models, than cheap copy stuff.Isaaccc wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 3:02 pmHave you seen any reviews of the nextgen 11? U can pick one of those up for around 1600?

I had native watercraft slayer 10 propel, light and easy to load to car's roof rack. I sold that, and downgraded to Viking hand paddle kayak and loving it.

Snapper season is just about to start if not already.
