What's worth spending?
Just the opposite of the other discussion.
Everyone is different of course, but be interesting to know what others think of what's worth spending.
For me, definitely getting a good kayak.
I had $700 kayak, put electric motor, etc. When I changed to Native Watercraft Slayer 10 propel, I haven't been saying other than it's worth upgrading. Much more stable, feels safer, more confident on it, etc.
My mate that had the same $700 kayak is now using Hobie compass. He said the same thing. Definitely worth spending on getting a good kayak.
Another I'd say worth spending is a good fly line (for fly fishing ofc). Makes so much difference.
Whenever I get a fly setup and suggest others, the first top priority on the budget is to get the best fly line, then the rod. The reel is the least to spend on.
What do you think worth spending? Whether you have purchased or not.

Re: What's worth spending?
A good rod and reel is worth spending extra for. Cheaper ones still do the job ofcourse, but you cannot beat the feel of a good reel and the sensitivity and action of a nice blank.
Sunnies are another thing, the better ones just seem lot better on the eyes, unfortunately for me I cannot enjoy the more expensive models as mine are prescription now and spending close to 700 every few years just isn't justifiable anymore for me.
The more you pay for electronics the more features your getting so its not really a case of spend more for better quality, but it still applies.
I will spend money if I think it will make things easier for me while fishing.
Trolling motor, sounder, maps, etc etc...

Re: What's worth spending?
Yup, took me a while and a leap of faith to spend $$ on better gear. I don't have crazy expensive gear but yes, even a $100 rod such as veritas is so much nicer than a kmart rod.purple5ive wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2022 8:12 pmA good rod and reel is worth spending extra for. I know some people who was happy with $50 rod until they tried a better rod and like "wow I'm gonna get this". Much lighter, easier to cast, sensitive, etc.
Some people go crazy for expensive lures. But as people say, lures catch anglers more than catch fish, lol. Maybe that's true.
I fish with lures a lot, but ofc still have bait when the situation is more ideal with bait.

Anything not used for bream fishing is worth buying.
