As per my Previous reports, you will have seen that i made a commitment to myself not to use gulps this season and keep on persevering with Daiwas latest and greatest range of plastics.(more on that later)
Ive also been fishing Hard this season and the results speak for themselves.
Like i said earlier, do your own thing and make your own reports than relying on information from others. do your research by all means, but dont just follow the rest of the flock. try something different like drifting rather than anchoring, or pick a different location than your usual, fish shallow rather than deep water perhaps.
My mate has still been using gulps and getting good fish too, so dont have to go out and buy baitjunkies for instance, good ol gulps are still producing

Trip 4
We had a great session with both of us bagging out. My mate got a ripper fish, but I'm not posting it here without consent.
These 2 are my best ones.
Trip 5
This trip was a grind. We marked up good fish but they wouldn't bite. Got one pinkie around 40odd cm
Trip 6
This trip was a case of Mark the fish and catch the fish from the very moment we left the ramp.
I seen what looked like a small shimmer on the water surface.
first cast into it confirmed my suspicion. Salmon.. and a football sized field of them..
I quickly remembered my flies that I had a crack at making during the lockdown. I tied the first one I made and had a cast, first cast no dice. Second cast got walloped. I they cycled through the others I made. They even took poppers and surface stickbaits It was then time to chase the reds.
We waited for the tide change and moved over to where we had marked fish earlier in the day. And it was game on..
We both bagged, but this was the best fish of the day. The others all were between 40 and 50cm
Called it a day after that...
Tight lines!!!
