Re: My tips and tricks to snapper fishing
Tip 12 is probably the most valuable. Invest the time and money into a decent sounder.Born2fish wrote:Hey guys ive been flooded inboxes for last two seasons people asking my what do i do when snapper fishing. To have so many successful trips.
Now i aint saying this is the only way or best way to fish for reds but its what works for me.
My advice as fellows
1 sunrise or sun set
2 good water temp (14.5 to 20c)
3 when eva possible tide change (if you can time a tide change with tip 1)
4 Brom (air pressure ) above 1014
5 if fishing at night fish shallow (under 7m)
6 freshest bait possible (not servo sh*t)
7 burley hard (i mean burley hard )
8 stay away from the crowds (fish on ur own
9 fish light as possible (rod reels and line class)
10 if fishing middle of the day ( tide change is a must) (and deep)
11 have a spred of baits ( mix them up different baits)
12 sound fish look for single fish i find this has been best
13 October to December (peak) jan to march (2nd run)
I hope this help fellow these and i hope this helps you get a fish of a life time
Regarding that, don't search for Xmas trees on your sounder. Search for 1 solid mark on the bottom and park the boat 20m short of it.

Re: My tips and tricks to snapper fishing
Can you please explain 12? I normally (and I am definitely no expert!!) wait until I see a school and dont stop if I just sound up a single snapp. Are you saying its best to stop when you see a single snapp?
