Re: Another 4 Bass yesterday evening
I caught them in the river. They stocked the Werribee river with 90,000 Estuary Perch 7 years ago. However, 40,000 were Bass by mistake. They are spread out right throughout the river, from above the weir to below. I have caught them in Melton also, but I have no idea how they got in there

I catch them in the Werribee river. It was accidently stocked with 40,000 Bass 7 years ago. They put in 90,000 EP's but 40,000 were bass, lol

Re: Another 4 Bass yesterday evening
Yep that's kinda why I said wild bass. Aka not in a reservoir or pond etc.Seniorfisho wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 7:15 pmI catch them in the Werribee river. It was accidently stocked with 40,000 Bass 7 years ago. They put in 90,000 EP's but 40,000 were bass, lol
I heard the ones in Melton were put there on purpose. Aka illegal stocking.
Its been almost a year since I touched the bream gear, might have to dust it off sooner rather than later.

Have you tried spinner baits slow rolling down deep?
I might give that a try now that the weather is cooler.

Re: Another 4 Bass yesterday evening
If you can plan your fishing around productive windows Seb. Things like high barometric pressure & low light conditions certainly help. Also get your cast in tight to snags.Seniorfisho wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 7:40 amYeah, it's not as easy as it looks. Re: Another 4 Bass yesterday evening
Strange as it may sound but we have been getting them throughout the day, especially around midday and all in the top part of the water column. The last hour of light has been the best for topwater and wake type baits, as I said, the strike pro Beetle Bug has been getting them throughout the day also, they swim just under the surfaceSebb wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 7:24 amLast three trips I went there I got nothing but mozzie bitesSeniorfisho wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 6:14 amCome down to werribee mate, I'll put you on to some Bass. i use a 1-3kg UL rod with a 1000 size reel and 6lb all round, they fight like maniacspurple5ive wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 10:40 pmYep that's kinda why I said wild bass.
