Dunno mate, but I reckon they look the goods. Be mindful they are a one piece rod. I wouldn't mind a couple myself for $80ea.

They look very nice. I particularly like the white tips on them for night fishing on the boat.

Re: Penn ‘PPB’ snapper special rods
I purchased the Penn Custom Gone Fishin Snapper/Gummy Rod 701SSL
I can recommend them, nice finish with lots of epoxy on the guides, nice action on the blank, I'm thinking of buying the other two models now !
Thx for the heads up Robbie !

These are quality rods bowl, the heavier snapper rod of the two will be ideal for WP, the nibble tip style rod between the two snapper rods looks the goods too.
The 701 SSL I got is perfect for PPB.

Re: Penn ‘PPB’ snapper special rods
After years of not having the right gear for ppb snaps. Either too heavy or too light I bought a spread of the old school southern snappers. Blue with white tips. Got em cheaper than that.

Re: Penn ‘PPB’ snapper special rods
The original Gary Marsh built Challenge Southern Snapper had red bindings. The blue bindings were the shorter Barra model. I'll have to hunt around the old man's for them and the Southern Gold he's got floating around in some dark corner. I remember snapping a Barra on a small Eagle Ray way back when
