cheap snapper combo and braid options
Ok,
so im looking at buying some bait outfits for snapper this season.(im assuming something around the 4-7kg with a 4000 reel would be ideal PPB outfits)
i seriously am considering the BCF $99 deal for shimano sonic pro rod, sienna reel and the karikai braid. its too good a deal not to get even though im not a shimano fan ill have to suck it up hahaha..
anyway, dinga also has some good deals going on atm
They have some jarvis walker graphite rods for $35, and some rovex/finn norr reels thats are around the $35 mark.
now i would obviously need some line for the Dinga option.
has anyone used/had any experience with the Powerpro/Cortland/fireline and the rovex branded braids.
these will be only used for bait fishing hence im trying to be as cheap as possible.
cheers

Re: cheap snapper combo and braid options
I dont know if you would be able to handle a shimano outfit.
Mite put too much strain on you mentally that you forget how to fish
Probably a 3 to 6kg rod will do for ppb with a 3000 size reel. Just depends on the weather, water depth and if your bait fishing or flicking jigs.
If westenport ill probably go 6 to 10kg with 4000 size reel

option 1. You're essentially getting a free rod even if it is an average one

Re: cheap snapper combo and braid options
That BCF deal sounds good. The Sienna isn't as good as they used to be I heard, the old ones were too good so they downgraded them. My Sonic pro has a good stiff blank and casts a mile, the guides went green and an insert fell out of one, like on all my Shimano rods.
