Lilydale Lake 01/09/2015
Fished today from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, near the mouth of the river at the little bridge. Today I tried fishing with bread, corn, meal worms, crickets and 2 types of Power bait and not a single bite all day. I even walked over the bridge and saw a little yellowbelly surface and still not a bite. Frustrating fishing today.

The fishing at lilydale has been tough lately, lots of fish but not much doing anything. How is the water clarity there currently?

The water was pretty muddy. The cold weather has really slowed fishing down. It's depressing.

Re: Lilydale Lake 01/09/2015
There is a channel that runs through the front of the lake from the inlet creek to the out flow, lures worked through that area and across the dam wall is apparently where the big trout lurk. When they drained it a few years back it was a good chance to scope out the bottom and work out the more likely spots the fish would hide. But even then it is a tough lake to fish.

It gets to 4m out in the middle where the old creekbed is, but unless you use a surf rod or bring a kayak you aren't going to reach it. I sounded up a bunch of fish down there but they weren't biting.
