When can Victorians expect to have fishing banned again?

Post by Mattblack » Mon May 11, 2020 1:03 pm

So how long before the anti-vaccination cult, 5G conspiracy theorists or just the general dim-witted minorities ruin everything by not practicing social distancing and they ban fishing again?

Haha, Victorians will be our everywhere this weekend completely flouting restrictions still in place and social distancing and the Premier will can everything straight away. I can see this coming for sure.

Cautiously optimistic but partially expecting this. With the "perfect" handling of cedar meat outbreak and the selfish minority exercising their own freedoms wouldn't be surprised on quick blanket restrictions resurfacing. Would be a shame, not from a fishing perspective but those jobs and businesses impacted now will either get a false start or prolonged delay in restarting.

2 months imo

It only takes a handful of undetected cases in the community to kick the outbreak off again if people lack the discipline to maintain social distancing.

I think we’ll get the worst of both worlds with enough people ignoring medical advice to keep the virus simmering away with periodic outbreaks like the meat processing plant, while most people maintain a very cautious attitude towards it and the economy doesn’t kick back into gear as a result.

Please Noooooo.
Im sure Nobody wants to see reports about empty boat ramps again, besides That now everyone here has a Masters in Marine Biology due to the species thread, Poor Broomstick what took him years only took us keyboard warriors mere minutes. I don’t think there much more left swimming around in the ocean that one of us here doesn’t know the name of.
And Theres only so many lures people can look at, and only so many times you can polish your Rod (and reel)
while some people got conned by Mr andrews into thinking that it was the best time to rip their boat into pieces, others have Gone over board and prepped and ready since day dot.
Then we have people more than happy to lick some metal railings and say its fine, while others are scared to leave their houses..
Theres only so many new recipes people are willing to try due to newfound Masterchefs at home whipping up a storm.
Not forgetting the lucky guys that had to be forced to go on a holiday
I mean think about the nightmares some members will have about fishing again, its hard enough counting down when to strike, let alone sleep talking about squid while holding your rod, god forbid trying to explain to the other half how the sheets are soiled when all you can remember is frantically casting into a salmon bustup!!!
