Yarra River Report 19/11/19
My mates and I fished the Yarra today, starting off at Yarra Glen where my mate landed a carp at 54cm and 2kg on a whole scrubbie fished on the bottom. He followed this up with another carp at 46cm and 1.7kg up near Healesville, again on a whole scrubbie on the bottom. I landed my first Yarra redfin at Healesville on a whole scrubbie on the bottom with the little tacker swallowing the whole thing down its throat before I could even strike. Little fella was not worth measuring and would probably be lucky to crack 6 inches. Not a bad day's fishing overall although the river was running a little fast. Anyone else having any luck on the Yarra?

Nice session and cheers for the report. The middle stretch of the yarra is coming into its active season, so ill be hitting it again hopefully frequently in the coming weeks.

Re: Yarra River Report 19/11/19
Good report - I have been itching to get the rods outs and hit the Yarra again.
I have just been concerned that there is still too much water flowing down it at present - went past Warrendyte last weekend and it was fast, high and dirty.
Hoping we get a break from this rain and it starts to settle.
The upside is that normally after solid post Winter flows - the Yarra fishes really well.

A little health scare, the shocking weather and life in general have had any fishing on the back burner.
As the weather improves I hope to change all that and you will see more posts bit by bit

Re: Yarra River Report 19/11/19
We fished Wonga Park/Warrandyte last Tuesday and while the flow up at Jumping Creek was a little fast, we managed a few bites and my mate landed a carp at 40cm/1kg. Went down to Pound Bend after that but we stood no chance there, the current kept sweeping us downstream into snags. The upside is that some fish are biting, it just needs to stop raining!ChrisD wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2019 10:26 amGood report - I have been itching to get the rods outs and hit the Yarra again.
