Fishing after few days of rain

Post by Pazzingp » Sat May 11, 2019 6:14 pm

Was just wondering if it was worth going out chasing some squid tommorow or Monday after the rain the last couple of days
Cheers!

it might be more productive than usual because the baitfish will come back in close to shore

Always worth chasing Squid mate just try and find the cleanest clearest water possible. Calamari have a massive growth rate roughly doubling in size every fortnight they are feeding machines.

If water is clear shouldnt b a problem
Also wind can cause murky water in shallow (which can attract some species of fish) like snapper and bream

Wind is nth n north west so should be offshore ...dirty water might bring salmon around...caught plenty of squid in 6-8 meters just past marina city side.
To many boats kayak, helicopter , catch a fish, catch a fish

If the water clarity is good where you are fishing then you are in with a good chance mate. I have caught squid in a bit of murky water before but not many. Always done well when the water has been clear.
At this time of the year there should be plenty around so worth giving it a crack. Good luck

Water clarity has been superb the last few days but its been a struggle to land the squid in big numbers

Wasn’t sure if it was just me or was quite in general..
Was out from 3 to 10 yesterday and managed to get two squid.. but turned that into a small 60cm gummy also later on in the night which made it worth while
