The kids gave me a new net for father's day. So I have been out most weekends since trying to catch something, anything, but with no luck.
Finally last Sunday I had some luck. The first spot I tried there was no action despite seeing a couple big carp jump and something smaller too, break the surface.
Despondent, I thought I might as well try another spot, then caught these two, and another smaller one. The big ones were both over 60cm.
I wouldn't have got them out of the water without the net, I was using quite light line.

I mostly use worms, since you can catch a few species on them. I also used corn kernels.

Fish-cador, it seems to be fine. The Yarra was running with fresh, crystal clear water that day, cleaned the slime off.
