Try fishing in stiff conditions out at the Horseshoe off Portland Vic during SBT season.
6m-6.5meters IS small.

The show is leagues ahead of worstblokes icantfish. At least Al fishes from his own boat and has skill as an angler.

Re: Small boats big fish
Yep small boat and they were sooking about the good conditions.
Interestingly they were C&R quite a few snapper most of the fish clearly had burst swim bladders and probably had a low survival rate.

Yeah it's all reletive I reckon.MIKER wrote:A Small boat to me is under 4m , i use a 3.7m tinnie & catch decent fish from it :fish11: :D
Likewise I fished the reefs at Altona in a 10 foot savage gannet with 4hp Hanimex outboard & caught heapsa fish over the years.
Then again, if yer fishing small rivers for say trout or cod, a 4 meter boat can be too bloody big at times.
But when you're 100kms out into the Southern Ocean, chasing SBT & it starts blowing 30 plus & building with swells from 4-5 meters & getting bigger every minute, 6.5 meters of boat is like a bloody esky lid.
I've been out in a 40 foot MFV tuna boat when a decent gale blew up & thought it was too bloody small
