Re: Boat
Great stuff . I just got back on the water myself.
Your boat should get along alright with the 40hp .

Re: Boat
Took boat for a test ride, would get up to About 30 kph n cough n splatter after that.
Put 3 new spark plugs and got up to 50 kph
Put new lowrance hook re veal 9 in boat. Use existing holes to mount transducer, about 5knots and it stops reading bottom.
It's low as it can go on existing bracket... should I mount it wider, lower higher ...?
200 Hz seemed to work best

Re: Boat
You have to go lower so the transducer runs just below the hull the trade off is it will spray water all up the side of the engine.
I have the same transducer and when I come off the plane as the water fills in at the back of the transom it pushes the transducer down 3 to 4 clicks its very annoying but I have a fix I'm just about to do ."When the people fear the Govn't, that is Tyrany, when the Govn't fear the people, that is Liberty"

Re: Boat
Tackkleb is right on.
If you still continue to have an issue
I did at increased speed and fitted a transducer spray cover (Whitworths #32389) this solved the problem.
