Cannot believe I spent $100 on fishing line.
I bought a baitrunner 8000D and spent a total of $100 on 30lb braid and 40lb fluoro leader line. Was expecting around $50. Got a shock. And it was loaded of a bulk spool.

heavy lines are big prices because theres less on a spool. plus you got both put on so they would charge more for that instead of only getting braid.

I think you got rolled, it pays to shop around and know your prices. Did you put the whole fluoro spindle on? I normally only attach 2 arms length Max. Hope you got the good stuff atleaste.

Re: Cannot believe I spent $100 on fishing line.
I'd say 8000D reel can fit maybe 400m of 30lb braid if not more. That alone be around $50-$60, can be more or less depending what brand and which shop etc. A 50m of 40lb fluorocarbon leader line can be around $20-$30, again depending on what brand and which shop etc.
So if you got the good stuff, $100 is about pushing to the max price. You can probably get less at diff shops or brands.
The price diff between Saltiga/Varivas line vs Jarvis Walker is a lot.

Quality braid is expensive but worthwhile.

Some flexible cement glue applied to the braid leader join that cures under sun or UV light.

You seem to have been taken for a bit of a ride. On an 8000 size reel I would have filled half of it with cheapo mono and then 150mtrs or so of braid. Unless your fishing for tuna that's a lot of braid. Never heard of the glue stuff and can't really see why you would need it. Anyway, braid and leader is very expensive and we all live and learn from our mistakes
