Inconsiderate fisherman

Post by Troy McLure » Sun Jan 03, 2021 12:49 pm

Driving past the Tarwin before and saw a heap of activity on the surface so I pulled over during a little break in the weather to flick some plastics amongst it hoping to tempt a few EPs I guess. Anyway, not a touch as usual. But the amount of rubbish left on the bank by previous fishermen was a disgrace. I picked up 2 loads to the bins which were 25 m away and there is more small stuff which I’ll get later with a bag. If the people who did it are reading this, you’re a pack of ****holes, lift your game.

Mate they are everywhere, I hate it even more when I see it at some of the trout streams. Good on you for picking it up. Also just saw this post on Fishbrain, it’s unbelievable.

I feel like that is a **** take, as much as there's a lot of truly shithouse people out there keeping a 5cm bream for dinner might be pushing it

He’d need a sharp knife to fillet them. Nothing would surprise me when it comes to the human race.

Well said Troy and good on you. I’ve taken to cleaning up a bit every time I go out too. I think if we all take a couple of pieces each time we go, and don’t leave any ourselves, then we may begin to reverse the problem. The upshot is I won’t be needing to buy sinkers for a while with all that I’ve found!

Thanks mate, it’s not a hard thing to do is it. Wouldn’t mind if they left a few hardbody lures amongst the rubbish.

If they are eating tiny things out of Moonee ponds creek, they won’t around for long.
So some solace there.

The same goes for campers.

I am sick of having to clean up rubbish, broken bottles, dunny paper, shotgun shells and everything else these lazy pricks leave behind.

LEAVE NO TRACE!!!! And have some respect for the people who will follow you.
