Winter Estuary Perch Fishing

Post by mazman » Fri Jul 24, 2020 1:05 pm

Hey guys,

another clip from before we melb got hit with lock downs, this time chasing some eps off the yak. Had to work hard and think a bit to find the fish but when we found them we had a lot of fun catching some good quality perch.

Nice video, I noticed you were in the lower reaches of the river, how far up river have you been and are the EPs up there too?

Getting better at both finding them in the first place and getting them to chew these days. Still lots to learn though.

I haven't explored the system there much but in other systems I have caught them above the tidal limit at times so I would expect it wouldn't change too much there

I’d love to have a kayak and take it upstream there. Time to look into it I reckon.

I've seen them caught at the first two name bridge well upstream of the main one. Wouldn't surprise me if they're further up at times
