Can't blame the nitros now.

How come they keep breaking in the same spot.

Run less drag and have some stones ready is all I can suggest.

Plenty of corrosion there. I have a shimano 9ft rod which I love the blank but the guides are cheap turned green almost straight away I keep meaning to have them all replaced with good guides.
Bad luck there Cobby when 2 issues happen at the same time

What were you targeting? Wire cutters?

Just a crap hook up with as much hurt as a 1-3kg rod and 8lb leader can apply when around structure. Could feel it crushing down on the hook until it went pop and the wear on the hook in the 10mm from the break suggests as much. Another bloke hooked up about halfa later and straightened his much heavier gauge hook. Was just a slow morning but the fish were big.

It's taken roughly 12 years, a lot of abuse and a crap tonne of fish for it to happen. Thankfully tips are super easy to replace once I pull it off and size it up and I already know it's a Fuji GMLGST guide.

EPs. It's the bycatch that's sometimes very bloody large

Well they do say Pictures speak a thousand words. And most of those words in this case would be swear words.
Been one of those trips by the look of it. Happens to all of us, including the swearing :o_0:
