Black Rock - Video fishing only with Black soft plastics

I’ve been getting asked a lot lately if Black soft plastics work so during the week I set out to conduct a short fishing challenge in Port Phillip Bay using only black soft plastics and had great results.
We fished in Black Rock in a small runabout boat during high tide. Using only 5cm pro grubs in UV black with 1/8 jig heads we set ourselves 90 minutes to catch as many pinkies as we could. We caught plenty of pinkies and a couple of flatties.

Re: Black Rock - Video fishing only with Black soft plastics
I'll check out the video later Al, but i am loving them all so far.
The plan is to head back down their on Tuesday to try again with the soft plastics. Hopefully the seals stay away this time. They are currently predicting a light northerly so hopefully it will be good conditions, if it is a bit too rough ill head around to Altona or Point Cook instead.
I also just picked up 3 new rigs. 3 6'6" Savage Gear 5-8kg rods paired with Rogue 4000 Baitrunner reels. I got the rods for $50 each and the reels for $30 each on clearance. So im looking forward to giving them a go. I already had the same rod so i know what to explect there, but ive never used a Rogue reel.

The only thing better than serenity is a two stroke at full throttle!

We had a crack at replicating Big Al's video today, right down to the black plastics (Zman Grubs) but we came up doughnuts on the plastics.

That's awesome to hear, hopefully the seals don't ruin your trip. Those rods are great value at those prices. Good luck let us know how you go.SteveoTheTiger wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2019 6:06 pmI'll check out the video later Al, but i am loving them all so far.
