Everyone learns fishing from someone.
Not everyone can go from working on chartet boat and then turn that into your own business.

Re: Is this site becoming redundant?
I don’t think it is, I think that the shear amount of information and the threads that go back over a year and a half-two years need to be archived, the homepage was a bit daunting when I first signed up, I think thjngs need to be archived and the main page options need to be condensed maybe using single catergories to click on which opens up sub categories, that way quite a few forums that are similar wouldn’t be congesting the total count of options on the home page

Links like ads as old as this with no activity should be monitored by the person who posted it, and perhaps a set time until the ad is automatically deleted after a week of inactivity, things like that would make the website shine like gold again

Re: Is this site becoming redundant?
The site always goes quieter over winter.... so does fishing in general!
I have attached some stats of visitors in the last week.
Over 10,000 page views a day,
Over 5,000 unique visitors per day,
Around 1,000 return visitors per day.
These figures will increase to between 15,000 - 20,000+ page views per day over summer!
No real need to archive anything as that's how people actually find the site.
Facebook Groups can be good for those seeking instant gratification, however good luck searching old posts for any relevant information.
That's what Fishing Victoria is here for.

Won't happen, these people are only interested in locations, no interaction or anything to do with any benefit to this site, purely selfish motives, I don't blame members hesitant to mention locations where they have done well.

What hornet said! Reality is, people don't even have to join up here! They can view everything...much the same as many other forums. But I think you can still post reports without alerting the entire angling nation! Just be careful that no landmarks are visible in your pics.
