Bait for Yellowbelly
Haven't caught a yella in a while, wondering what you guys use (including lures).

Re: Bait for Yellowbelly
they love size 3 / 2 stumpies, spinner baits, vibes and most other bibbed lures. Yabbies, worms and shrimp make good bait.

Shrimp & worm cocktail

Yella's take most small to medium lures, one of the most effective ways to catch them is bobbing logs with a hook loaded with live shrimp, if there are any near the log your are targeting they wont take long to strike

All the above techniques will get you yellas, I also use soft plastics and frozen prawn from the supermarket, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Bobbing eh? Never gave it a thought, sounds like an idea though.Jay375 wrote:Yella's take most small to medium lures, one of the most effective ways to catch them is bobbing logs with a hook loaded with live shrimp, if there are any near the log your are targeting they wont take long to strike

Re: Bait for Yellowbelly
I reckon best baits (not lures) are:
1. one or more live shrimp;
2. yabby about 2 inches long;
3. yabby tail;
4. bunch of worms.
Best Wishes
