Hi Jim, As Puple5ive says, yes, it is the latest model in the market.. i got it order from Singapore.
I check with BCF and Compleangler, they dont this new model yet but it is around $380 if it arrives to Australia.
I may sound crazy at this point, but im using this reel to target Jewfish :fish22: :a_goodjob:

Yea nice mate. I also think one of those knobs would look better on the reel.Rustie wrote:Lightningx wrote:Nice mate what's he rod you have matched it up with for the mulloways? :tongue:Rustie wrote:Mutley and Scruffy wrote:Nice looking reel! Re: 2016 Shimano Stradic CI4+
I have a dilemma now... I have 2 spools of 300 meter 20lb n 40lbs YGK braided line... I wanna use the major craft rod to target jewfish..
Which one should i use on this reel? Was thinking of getting another new Reel spool for 40lb so i have 2 spools 20 n 40lbs..
or just put in the 40lb one since YGK braid is very thin braided line ?
what u guys suggest?

Re: 2016 Shimano Stradic CI4+
ifyour fishing structure then use the heavier line and back it up with mono since the braid is quite thin you will need backing to fill the spool up, and regardless the braid is so thin you wont loose casting distance either
should be a nice outfit to chase jews for sure
good luck with it

Re: 2016 Shimano Stradic CI4+
If you have only 20 and 40 atm go with the 40. like Steve said you won't lose much casting distance. Instead of getting a new reel you could just look at getting a spare spool direct from shimano. Will work out much cheaper

Re: 2016 Shimano Stradic CI4+
I watch a few videos wolly posted about how to spook ur reel for the first time...
I did that method on the you tube videos he posted and now I couldn't put more then 50% of the braided line into the spool..
Did I do anything wrong or do I bring to a tackle shop to spool for me ??

Re: 2016 Shimano Stradic CI4+
I personally like EVA round handles.
What size was the spool of braid, with 40lb braid (depends on the diamemter) you might fit 130-150m.
