Boat ramp suitability in Central Vic.

If it doesn't fit in a specific freshwater fishing section, post it here

Boat ramp suitability in Central Vic.

Post by Al03 » Mon Dec 14, 2020 1:06 pm

Went on a bit of a drive yesterday to check out some nearby lakes and water storages near me.
Tullaroop ramp is out of the water and i would suggest that unless you have a 4wd i would not attempt to launch here.
Ground after ramp is reasonably solid, but having those two extra wheels as insurance is a non brainer.
Picnic Point ramp at Cairn Curran is just still usable with two wheel drive, saw a bloke walk of the end of the ramp when attaching a strap to the bow for retrieval and got himself rather wet.
Ramps at Cairn Curran near yacht club are still good, 100 percent usable.
Ramps at Laanecoorie are both still in the water both at the Caravan Park and Ankers Causeway and are good to go.
Hope this helps people out there when planning their next trip,
Regards Al.
