It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Gday Dave!

Did I read correctly, that you're having some issues keeping yabbies alive?

Just thought I'd provide a couple of tips that work wonders mate...
- Firstly, I clip each yabby's thumb off its claws, (by squashing them with the aid of a pair of long-nosed pliers). A bit of an exercise if you have quite a few yabs, but it stops them from killing/eating each other, and they still look natural presented as a bait.
- Secondly, an inch or two of water is all they need, maximum. Just enough to keep them wet and cool, but shallow enough that they can stick their heads up and grab a breathe of fresh air. Any deeper and you will require lots of aerators, considering the high volume of yabs within such a confined area.

Simple, but very effective. Hope this helps.

Not being a wet blanket, just warning people
I'm still really keen. Hail, rain or shine the fishermen get through
How's those yabbies going?? I'm having no luck, but, still trying
Cheers Gra
