Re: Paternoster vs sliding sinker rigs
As I fish 99% of the time off a boat I can not see the point I would use a running sinker with a dropper to the sinker two hook rig. When I put a spread of 4 rods out 3 would be running sinker 1 would be paternoster my belief is where there is current the bait is presented better on a running sinker than paternoster

Re: Paternoster vs sliding sinker rigs
Whats the most amount of droppers you folks have put on a paternoster?
Re: Paternoster vs sliding sinker rigs
Maximum of 2 hooks on each line - that's in DEPI's rules. That means 2 droppers max per line.

I've found Salmon and Trevs seem to bite more on suspended baits. Snapper, whiting usually take the bottom bait. Just something I've noticed.DougieK wrote:Is there a situation in which you'd suggest using this rig SS?Snapper Snatcher wrote:The only time I fish a paternoster is when fishing vertically as the bait will lay on the bottom anyway if casted out so it will act like a running rig. If you want the bait suspended but are casting out, stick some foam on the top of the rig to hold the rig up.
