I like using 2 hook rigs myself; either for long strip baits or whole fish. I tend to start off with a free sliding top hook, but when the tide starts flowing faster(in WPB) my bait does tend to bunch up and collect a pooload worth of weeds or rocks. Then i switch over to a snelled sliding hook by tying a snell over the existing hook and line.

Also if i CBF tying one, just use a cable tie on the top hook.

Cheers, I was wondering if there were clearer instructions for a sliding snell than the ones in Geof Wilson's knot book.

If im using the sliding hook rig i run the line in a full loop through the top hook before twisting the line round the shank. Its a bit harder to move for different sized baits but it doesn't slip on the cast or retrieve. The other alternative is a fixed pennel rig where you cut the snoods into different lengths.
Cast, catch and put it back
