Upper yarra, a break from the red 24 Nov '19

Post by Sebb » Mon Nov 25, 2019 7:18 am

After few attempts chasing red (and failed), decided to take a break and went to upper yarra for trout.
Plus, had soccer game on Sat, so though the morning weather was good to be on a yak for snapper, me legs weren't there. Sleep in in the morning and a quick afternoon fishing from a river bank was the better choice.

Water was clean enough, tea coloured as usual and just a slight murk. Running a bit fast and just a tad high for me.
Saw some insects activity but nothing caught on fly. Missed and dropped a few, mostly baby brown trout about 15cm. Landed two on ecogear mx48 in rainbow pattern.

Exhausted with a swollen knee, but was relaxing.

Weather : sunny blue sky 24 degrees very low wind
Time fished : 4pm-8pm
Moon : 4%
Barometer : 1011 steady
Lures : strike tiger nymph, mepps spinner, ecogear mx48, gomoku storm minnow.
