Spearing success Carrum.
Well, after checking the forecast I though I’d head down to the beach for a few hours with a spear and head torch. At first I managed a few garfish, before I noticed a huge mullet, I took a shot as it darted around me and missed. Now utterly gutted I continued, trying not to dwell on missing perhaps the biggest mullet I had ever seen. I then got a few more gars, but apart from them and heaps of stingrays I wasn’t seeing much. It had now been about an hour and a half and my hopes were fading. But to my surprise a massive flounder appeared right in front of my feet, I hastily speared it and had now forgotten about the mullet. Then finally as I was about to head home, I saw what I thought was a reasonably sized pinkie. After spearing, it turned out to be a bream, a smidge under 30cm. Anyway, I came home absolutely stoked after the session turned out to be very successful. Can’t wait to go again!

Nice work. You almost never see people spearing around there.

I spear the gars, I’ve tried netting them and whacking them on the head, and although it does work I have found by far the best way to get them is with a spear. Especially when they’re not on the surface.denis barden wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 1:28 amGood stuff

That’s a nice spearing session
I used to go all the time about 4-5 years ago.
Definitely going to get back into it this summer!
Nice work mate you’re doing well.
Enjoy the feed.
Cheers
