Fishing outside The Rip

G'day everyone, I'm keen on heading outside the rip and trying some bottom jigging but mainly bottom bait fishing in my boat. Not too far out, I'll stay within 2 nautical miles so nothing too dramatic. I'm just keen to get an idea, when I get out of the heads, I was planning on a right turn and investigating what I can find towards Barwon Heads. Or should I turn left and head towards Sorrento ?
Hopefully in the coming weeks I can get a chance to give it a go and get some practice and experience before the warmer weather arrives and it gets busy. This Monday is looking good and I do have time off work now but "priorities" are very fluid at the moment - if you know what I mean,,,
My preference is for a feed of gummy, but any action is worth it for me. Snapper, anything.
So what do you reckon, out the heads, left or right ?

Cheers
Jamie
