Berleying while drifting

Post by Kestrel » Mon May 22, 2023 2:51 pm

Hi folks
Who has a berley pot over the side of the boat while drifting?
I do most of my fishing between Port Melbourne and Werribee.
I've not tried it yet, but wondering how effective it might be?
Cheers

Its definitely very effective for all species from flathead to tuna and everything in between. In your situation you would have pinkies coming right up in the water column and also very helpful when squidding.

Thanks canned-Tuna
Would you have the pot shallow or just above the bottom?

X2 when squidding, clears the water up.

I use the berley bucket at the back of the boat but there is no hard and fast rules. Its all about finding out what suits your situation
