Snapper Season 2020
Launched StKilda at 3.30am, motored straight out to the footy ground at Williamstown & was pretty much the only one there until about 5am.
Use Reedys Ultra rigs on 2 rods, and Black Magic Snapper Snatchers on the other 2 (all baited with squid and pilchard) The squid got chewed, the pilchards weren't touched.
Caught 2 sting rays befoe sunrise, both on the the Reedys Ultra Rigs (used a UV torch to charge them up).
A few schools on the sounder mid way up the water column, plenty of boats, pretty much no action but it was great being back on the water.
*should have listened to advice given at the ramp & gone to Black Rock.
Re: Snapper Season 2020
At least you got out - would be painful if you're outside of the 25km radius of waterways.
Would you launch from St Kilda to head to Black Rock or launch elsewhere?

Hey mate...I launch from StKilda 99% of the time and head off to wherever the fish are meant to be....StKilda to Black Rock is only 15-30 minutes by boat

Re: Snapper Season 2020
Nice mate!
That was me yesterday as well. Felt awesome just to be out there on the water but for us the wind picked up and got quite sloppy so we headed back in. Might give it another crack tomorrow morning. Was good to just run the motor for a couple of hours. On the way back we checked out a few snapper spots we have in mind over the next month
Hope you get into some action soon!
Tight lines!
Cheers

Not successful at all...even took out Yepi'mon to get some tips and got donuts (he did give me some great tips and GPS marks for Whiting in WPB earlier this year though )
