I was using a 2pc starlo stix flatspin light rod (rated 3-5kg I think) when a fish close to 2kg decided to play tug of war and it sat behind a breaker and stayed there. It was stale mate from there on. I tried to muscle it out and I ended up with a 3 pc rod.
I fixed the broken rod and it has landed dozens of nice flatties and a few cala since then. Rod is still working.
