Leader for Bream

Post by KChubbs » Sun Oct 10, 2021 12:03 am

Hi Everyone,

I have been doing some research into good fluorocarbon leaders for bream and was wondering what everyone's opinions were on Yamatoya Fighter Harris vs Sunline FC rock (or any other Sunline leader) vs Unitika Aiger 3.

Cheers!

Steve Morgan did a really good run down on leaders here and fc rock tested poorly so I'd skip that.

Personally I'm using unitika anger III and have been for the last year or so and love it, low diameter for its breaking strain so can fish a little heavier around structure if needed. Have a couple of spools of the yamatoyo in some slightly heavier line classes and it gets the job done but I'll probably get shimano ocea or unitika aiger III to replace it once the spool is finished.

Prepare for lots of opinions :)

I’ve been using yamatoya Harris fighter in 4 and 6lb for years, never had any issues with it or had any bust offs that I felt were a bit “dodgy” so haven’t really shopped around.
