Re: Circle Hooks
Circle hook is designed to hook on the jaw, hence easy to unhook and less harm for catch and release. Getting the right size for the target fish is important. Same with other hooks, big fish with big jaw, big hook. Small fish with small mouth, small hook.
So it's all depends what fish you are targeting.

Re: Circle Hooks
A mate & I use 3/0,4/0,5/0 circles for snapper and gummies and have also hooked up trevally and flathead among others.
We use shiners (no. 6) for whiting, which have done really well in the past but we haven't got on to any for ages.

Re: Circle Hooks
All I know is that my hook up rate for most species in PPB has increased since I started using them on a regular basis.
Much kinder to the fish and better release (alive) rates too.
I’m a fan!
Cheers
