Interesting / fair points, but if you feel the tail of a fish 'thwacking" your leader, it would be wise to loosen off your drag. Admittedly, I've never fished for kingfish, but for mulloway, I tend to lighten up the drag once I get the fish within 5 metres of shore. Having said that, I would also prefer to have a mono leader in any case.

Great read cheers Bowl.
Always good when marketing hype is questioned unfortunately an article like this would never be published in a tackle magazine for one reason take a guess.

It talks about fluro rupturing when hit with a tail but what would mono do under same conditions?

I should mention that I read that fluoro does indeed stretch, but that it takes significantly more force to begin stretching it.

This is when it all turned pear shaped. I felt one treble pull out, followed by a second and then the inevitable happened and the line went slack. It took a moment or two to realise that the fish was gone.

I wish I had that power ! just imagine you know how many hooks pull out one at a time on a fish your fighting... Paleeeees..

Rest of the article was informative.
