Post by Tackleberry » Fri Feb 23, 2024 5:56 pm

I just bought a box of whiting hooks

and just noticed where they were made

At the price they still want they can go jump .
I can get 5x the product from China direct for the same money .

What do you think is a good, cheap brand? I'm a bit of a cheapskate but have had a few hooks snap on me over the years, including one recently that snapped while I was tying it to the line. I find myself going back to the pricier brands when this crap happens.

When it comes to whiting I'm a cheapskate ad well, lol
I use Jarvis walker brand from BigW,they work just fine and sharp out of the pack
I tried the cheap ones from Bcf but find the eye not big enough for 8lb mono sometimes

I'm much the same but I'll always buy a pack of Black Magic circle hooks if they're in stock at Anaconda. I used to always buy Mustad though.
