Just don't cast anything over 20grams and you'll be right lol...mazman wrote:I use YGK gsoul upgrade wx8 and it is by far the best line I've used, a few others on here use it too and I'm pretty sure they all love it as well

Re: What Braid?
I brought some of that aldi stuff which has been ok so far. Ive been blowing through so much line I have had to investigate the cheaper options.

Re: What Braid?
Iv'e just started using power pro braid and it has been really good, I came from using fins but I now prefer power pro.

Re: What Braid?
I'm not entirely sure why you say that, I've cast up to ~30grams on mine and the only reason I haven't gone higher is the rod.CarlG wrote:Just don't cast anything over 20grams and you'll be right lol...mazman wrote:I use YGK gsoul upgrade wx8 and it is by far the best line I've used, a few others on here use it too and I'm pretty sure they all love it as well
Re: What Braid?
I would say a .6-.8 pe would suffice a 2500 reel. Cast away and varivas avani sea bass are pretty good.

Re: What Braid?
Ads and Doug have had issues with it. It is spectacular line, but if you're gonna be casting heavier lures, >45gram, I'd look elsewhere..mazman wrote:I'm not entirely sure why you say that, I've cast up to ~30grams on mine and the only reason I haven't gone higher is the rod.CarlG wrote:Just don't cast anything over 20grams and you'll be right lol...mazman wrote:I use YGK gsoul upgrade wx8 and it is by far the best line I've used, a few others on here use it too and I'm pretty sure they all love it as well

Re: What Braid?
The YGK is thin which means abrasion resistance can be an issue. I've got it on my 4000 sized reels and haven't had an issue with casting 3 oz sinkers with the 25lb version. For casters that load the rod up alot more than me that can be an issue with the thinner lines.
