New Cod Rod

Post by fisho999 » Fri Feb 03, 2023 10:02 pm

Hey all,
Went to anaconda today to get a new bait cast rod and a new spool of braid for my ultralight.

I got the Shimano raider Barra mauler, tested it at the dam and it felt nice and it was light.

Hoping to get a yellow belly on it this weekend at the local channel, wish me luck :-D

Alvey orbiter bait cast.I would highly recommend one. I have re spooled my Shimano caius with 40 lb braid so I will see how that feels on the rod when I get back from Sydney

thanks, Senoir, ill take some pictures of it and post them. hoping to stock it with yellas, bass, silver perch and possibly Murray cod. there's mosquito fish and red fin in it, so i think i will let the musqito fish get eaten by the redfin and other fish when i stock it.

I would cut down on the number of species a touch. Private dams seem to go best for fishing with a limited number of species and a good supply of food. If you do it well you can create an awesome little fishery for yourself

I was thinking about that, maybe just yellas and bass then. I need to work on it before I stock it.

yellas and bass get on swimmingly and probably the best option. I would pay to come and fish it once they grow
