Surf Combo on the cheap

Looking to add a new toy to the collection, which currently consists of two 7ft 2-4kg spin combos that do a good job flicking at piers and calmer spots, but I’m keen to try out some surf fishing.

I’ve been looking at the Penn Warhorse 12ft 8-12kg, which fits my budget nicely. Looks to be a decent outfit for the price to target salmon and still be able to handle some bigger bycatch. Anyone used these or got other recommendations that’ll stay below the $150 mark?

go to anaconda, they should have the shimano catanas on clearance for 30 bucks, that includes a big 7 kilo surf rod. you will have money left over to buy a good 4000-6000 sized reel that should handle salt fish nicely.
