jigging

hey

i was looking for some advice on whether or not i could jig off piers with this bait caster, or whether i can actually jig with a bait caster.

or should i get an actual overhead combo? i have been looking at this one.

If you're seriously looking for saltwater jigging from shore, none of them suits it. You can use them ofc, but not ideal.
Look for shore jigging rod and saltwater baitcast, such as tranx.

Yup, Shimano.
There's also Shimano Stile that is designed for saltwater light jigging.

Where are you going to fish, jigging is for boats really. I can't think of any pier that would produce fish by jigging
