The zodias is a great rod. I'd happily fish 20lb through it with 1/4oz jigheads on 4" plastics or for throwing fish traps. It's also got enough backbone to land the largest Jews that swim in our rivers provided you fight them properly.

The revoltage is in another league. It's absolutely amazing. But it's also priced accordingly. I got one second hand from qld for $350odd. New retail are $550. I'll fish this one with 25lb Fc leaders and 3/8th jigheads throwing 4-6" plastics. Majority of the time I throw a swing impact fat 4.8"

6-12lb may be a bit light?
How heavy do you recommend?

Have a look at some nitro rods, you wont regret it.
Any models you recommend in particular :o_0:

I know someone who landed a 100cm mulloway not long ago on a Zodias 6-12lb rod, they are probably the best rods in that price range, I'm assuming you will be using it for soft plastic fishing
That is great to hear, and yes I will be using soft plastics!

I bought a zodias 270m I believe it is. To replace a broken steez thunderstorm. It's a nice rod and have caught a few pinkies on it. Looking forward to using it on an upcoming jew trip. I'll be using it primarily with vibes. Or plastics up to 4".

I also bought a Jackall revoltage s70m. 10-25lb. This rod is an absolute beast. As light as your average 2-4kg rod. Perfect for throwing 1/4 to 1/2oz jigheads as required depending on current etc.
How are you finding the 270m, do you think it would be too light for mulloways? And how does the zodias compare to the revoltage?

Thanks everyone for the replies and I'm open to any other suggestions! :gj:
You really can't go wrong with a zodias, the ultra light models are amazing on big bass. Yes, mthat zodias will handle a Mulloway as long as you have a good reel

this might be a bit light but this is the best lure flicking rod I have ever owned, it is light and smooth and it works great, good for trout and other fish like trout. I would recommend it.

That combo is a nice combo for the price but it really is a budget outfit. I wouldn't recommend it for chasing Mulloway

Would you be able to throw 1/6 jighead on the zodias mh 6-12lb? (Or even 1/8?). Looking to target snapper in open water with stradic fl 3000c.

It's rated 7-21g.
And 7g is 1/4oz.

1/6 is 4.66g.
You probably can use 1/6 plus the weight of the plastic that makes a total of 7g.

Thats a good point! Anyone have a weight chart for the more common soft plastic out there? (4inch zman jerk shads) :-D :-D :-D

I wonder if I could use kitchen scale or some sort to check the weight, lol.
My guess is at least 2.33g, enough to make it to 7g. Lol.
