Fibreglass or graphite / composite?
Currently using an UglyStik Gold 4-7kg, it "seems" the tip is too soft for HB's - that is, it absorbs the lure's action.

Composite from the yak because you'll high stick it pretty regularly in a yak and they're a lot more forgiving. I only use graphite for rods I intend to cast with.
2015/16 Fisting Victoria Species comp total: 289cm
Brown Trout: 37cm
Flathead: 51cm; Squid: 36cm; Australian Salmon: 51cm; Snapper 46cm; Silver Trevally 23cm; KGW: 45cm

My very reasoning to getting the Ugly in the first place, I guess it's a compromise.

For constantly moving a lure the way you do when trolling the rod wont absorb the lures action
