Reel replacement advice.
Gday,
For many years my go to all-rounder for salt water fishing has been a Shimano Symetre 2500. I am not a gear obsessed fisho. I just like reliable stuff that works well. That reel has since gone to god and is a discontinued model.
Part of me just wants to buy one of these again once it pops up on eBay as I’ve grown to love it over the years. Another part or me reckons buy a new one that is in production. That being the case, what would you say is the modern shimano model that is the Symetre’ equal in quality?
Or, more broadly, what would you recommend as an affordable 2500 real to be used as a saltwater all rounder? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

What's your budget? Many diff models out there.
Symtre had 4+1 ball bearings i think, so maybe Shimano Sedona.

Budget info would be helpful. The little stradics are tops.

Thanks for jumping in fellas. As far as budget goes, probably between $100 - $200.

The Sedona is a pretty decent choice in that range, take the extra $ and get some really good quality braid.

Re: Reel replacement advice.
Shimano Nasci is about $150. Excellent reel and is water sealed, easily the best value for money in that price

Re: Reel replacement advice.
Thanks again everyone for the tips.
I had a look at the new nasci in the local fishing store and it felt great. Little bit more saving to do and I’ll go with that I reckon .
Cheers.
