New surf combo

Post by e.welch » Sat Dec 04, 2021 10:06 am

after having my solstice combo for about a year the rods finally kicked the bucket but the reels still going strong. one of the guides snapped of when my mate cast it and honestly, the top part never went in properly. so I am looking for a new rod to put my Penn 10000 reel on and also another surf combo because when I fish at Mornington there are two spots I fish ones at the actual wall but I can't get far enough with my other rods so its not worth fishing there unless you have 2 surf rods or I fish at the part where it just starts going up. I want to fish the rock wall part more so i am looking at getting a second surf combo so it's worth fishing there. I don't really have a budget but the max i want to spend is 500 getting a new surf rod and a rod to replace my solstace. anacondas got solstaces for 83 dollars so i can just get a new one but there might be a better rod out there.

What do you think of the penn defiance 2 combo? Waste of money or ok combo?

Yes, I had aerowave, it's bulky, heavy, not as easy to cast compared to Prevail or Allegiance.

How's your hand e.welch? I still have that cart for you.

I'm out of town atm. Not gonna make it to Mornington today.
I'll PM you when I head to Mornington/Frankston, possibly within next two weeks.
