YouTube: telescopic rods explained. What do you think?

My fishing will be restricted soon, most of my fishing will be metro fishing before and after work. So I am looking for a 1-3kg rod that I can take in my backpack to work (and commute in public transport).

Last year or two years ago I remember I asked similar question and agreed with the majority to look for multi piece rod instead of tele, but this time I might consider telescopic rod after watching this YouTube video. It's a long video but watch the first 10 mins or at least the 5:00 to 10:00.

What do you think of tele rods?

Not the cheapo under $100 stuff, but the decent ones. Cheapest decent one I found is Majorcraft Solpara from Japan or eBay around $110-$125, then the Daiwa and Abu mentioned in the video around $250+
