Well iso has me looking at my reel collection and rethinking on how I use my combos. Currently in ppb I tend to use my 3500b series for the snapper since getting them. They are lighter and just generally feel more nimble over the bigger brother 4500b.
So since I have 6 x 4500b I’m wondering if I repurpose them for WP, and strip the mono off it and put braid.
What are people’s thoughts, are 4500b too small boat fishing in WP for snapper/gummy’s my feeling is probably with issues with dealing with by catches.
However, interested in others opinions on 3500b vs 4500b.

Re: Baitrunner B series
I'm actually eyeballing the Penn liveliner 8500 for some LBG applications and would like anyone's opinion who's owned one as well.
What is the largest capacity baitrunner type reel on the market?

Re: Baitrunner B series
Wasn’t there a shimano 14000d baitrunner?
Personally I think the 4500b’s are an odd size. Too big for PPB (definitely usable though) but useless in wpb. Mainly cos you’ll never use the bait runner function.

Re: Baitrunner B series
I use the 6000 and 8000oc versions in wp and get smoked by rays.
Still get them in but if the tides running and they use their body against it it can be real hard work. Especially if you left mono on there.

Re: Baitrunner B series
For baitrunner,s i like shimano ,the 8000oc is pretty strong reel but you might be looking more at the 12000oc for what you get up to.To be honest never tryed or handled the penn version
