The 4-9kg and 12-20lb are very similar in action. The 12-20lb is a majorcraft volkey and the 4-9kg is a daiwa td battler. They are for cod in smaller waterways and also running jigs and big lures on bass/yellas.Seb85 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 9:38 pmThanks all.
Well i already have lunker hunter rod which is a 2-6 kg rod. Though has a strong butt and landed 64cm cod on it, casting heavy lures on it isnt easy.
The current rod Catana is a one piece, though graphite and all, its pretty heavy, so I want to upgrade it. Also I like the idea to have a travel rod, easy to carry while bush bashing and if one day fishing for barra up north.
I guess I'll get the pork chop.
And yeah Maz, that Venom 6kg looks heavier than the usual shimano/daiwa 6kg.
My lunker hunter 6kg rod feels like a 4 kg.
Maz, do you have those three for casting purposes? To cast diff lures and weights. Or heavier ones for targetting bigger fish etc?
The 8-15kg is a millerods codfreak which is my new all rounder for general cod.
I also have a swimbait outfit as well but I left that out because it's a bit more specialised.
