Gomoku rods

Post by aussie_fisho » Sat Jul 11, 2015 10:42 pm

Have seen and heard good things about these rods and looking into getting a few. I was told the colour of the rod determines what it is meant for but not exactly sure, can someone give me information on the weight ratings and the colours or anything else?
Cheers Aussie

there are 3 basic weights Blue -- Kaiten PE 1 - 3 or about 10 - 30 pound -- Max jig weight 160 gram

Red --- Erito PE 0.8 - 1.5 or about 8 - 20 pound --- max jig weight 120 gram

green --- Keiryo PE 0.4 - 1 or around 10 pound max --- max jig weight 40 gram

Myself I bought an OH Erito myself set it up with a 6000 series baitcaster -- I still need to give this micro jigging a bit more of a go

there is quite a bit in the subject on youtube -- quite a few of the kayaking guys up further north ( NSW and QLD ) are doing it and having fun with Kings and such

I've got the relatively new black one. It's a pe2-4 rated to 250grams. Simply put its a frigging beast. bought it for lighter kingy jigging.

Exactly the same weight. They are ridiculous. No other way to explain them.

I haven't fished with one but i've handled them a few times at a tackle shop. Stunning piece of technology. Wish they made a 902.

great for jigging deep water with lighter jigs, saves a lot of energy.

I've got a blue gomoku and an ecooda blackhawk (a bit cheaper) and i have to say that i prefer the blackwatch. The gomoku has all its strength in the butt and it bends really strange, whereas the blackhawk has more strength through the rod which i prefer. Each to their own but I'd suggest checking out both.
