Vintage rod found in hard rubbish

Post by trout-hunter » Sun Aug 06, 2023 2:50 am

Hey everyone, I've found a brand new unused vintage Jarvis walker "clarence" fishing rod in a neighbours hard rubbish. The reason I know it's never been used is because the chrom bits to connect the 2 halves dont even have a scuff mark at all from being joined and the reel handle thread is done up without any signs of being undone and a reel being attached, if it had been used there should be some sort of a slight mark but there's nothing.. , it's obviously been put in the back of someone's shed and forgotten about for the last 30 to 40 years.. does anyone know of a collector that might be interested in this rod?
Cheers everyone

Pretty famous glass rod back in the day I think. From the 80s.

That's a nice find, looks pretty good condition too.
Those were good rods back in the 80s.

I have a few of these old rods but none are in this condition. The bag it was in has a name and address but its real hard to read, i can see that they paid $18 for it though.. ahh those were the days

A mate had one of these back in the day, it was great for gars from the piers. Good for small salmon too, we called them bay trout, and mullet & bream in the creeks.
