Retrieve ratio is the same for each on site. Which lines up with my memory of them having a deep spool spool rather than larger diameter.

They often change the knobs between 2500 and 3000 with the 2500 having an I shape and the 3000 having the t shape knob typically.

Swapping a 3k spool to a 2500 effectively makes it a 3000 aside from the knobs and vice versa
Thanks Alex, ill keep this in mind..

The 3000 isn't a bigger spool it is just cut deeper .
Well there you go. Back in the old days (before this whole "compact 3000" naming) they were slightly wider rotors and spools. But a c3000 Sustain FI is 10 grams lighter on paper than the 2500 Sustain FI. Same weight for a 4000 and a c5000. Mind blown

Hi Purple5ive,

I'm on the market now to buy a Shimano Twin Power reel and rod setup. Just wondering if you got around on getting one ? I'm so confused and can't make up my mind.
